LOS ANDES ANNOUNCES GRANT OF STOCK OPTIONS

Vancouver, BC – Los Andes Copper Ltd. ("Los Andes", or the "Company", TSX Venture Exchange: LA) announced today that the board of directors has approved the issuance of 750,000 options to a company that is wholly-owned by a director of the Company pursuant to the Company's stock option plan. The options are exercisable at a price of $0.50 each and expire in five years.  After the above mentioned option grant, there are 20,998,981 common shares reserved for issuance pursuant to the Company’s plan, of which a total of 1,425,000 shares are subject to outstanding option grants.
